More natural and lower toxic products have become increasingly available and affordable, which is great. As someone who travels frequently, I’ve wanted to continue my low tox journey while on the go. That said, I don’t buy travel sized products every time I travel. I typically use reusable travel sized containers so I can bring exact products I prefer. However, more brands are offering travel sized products, making low tox travel even easier.

When traveling, I personally like to bring all my own bathroom essentials – shampoo, conditioner, tooth paste, etc. As I began traveling to more remote areas, and especially when I started traveling with kids, I wanted to ensure I had reliable lower tox options on hand, including medications.

Here are some travel essentials, I bring on almost every trip I take.

Deodorant. I have been using Humble deodorant for a while and absolutely love it. It contains no aluminum and uses essential oils for the scent. They also came out with a travel size. Deodorant is one of the things I pack first, because I would hate to forget it.

Makeup Remover Wipes. Not only do the Honest make up remover wipes work great, I have also been using the them for years. I usually get the smaller packs, so easy to travel with already. These are so convenient to have, especially if you are traveling.

Papaya Digestive Support. Whether its a big juicy burger or a margarita on the beach, if you’re like me, you like to splurge a little on vacation when it comes to food and drinks. And the food you eat on vaction isn’t what you might normally eat. The last thing I want on vacation is an upset stomach. I take my Papaya digestive support with me as a precautionary measure.

Bee Keeper’s Naturals. I almost always get a little congested if I fly at all. Even when I don’t travel by plane, I am usually switching climate and feel the effect of allergies. Bee Keeper’s Naturals throat spray and nasal spray have been essential to limiting those effect for me. Both are made with bee propolis extract.

Sunscreen. To be honest I haven’t used sunscreen in years for various reasons. I usually try to use other protective methods first, but there are still times I needed to use sunscreen for my kids. I try to use sunscreens that are mineral based, use natural ingredients, and avoid parabens and phthalates. You can find some mineral and tallow based sunscreens HERE.

Dry shampoo. Whether I am traveling for over 12 hours straight or am going to the beach, having dry shampoo is a must for me. I love spending time with my family on vacations and usually stay fairly busy. This Amallow dry shampoo has been a life saver. It’s non-toxic and made with organic ingredients…yes, please!

Welly Basic First Aid. I didn’t travel much with basic first aid products until I had kids. If I can prevent my child from crying mid flight because they get a “boo-boo” by giving them a colorful band-aid that also has tested negative for PFAS, I’m going to do it. There are even smaller, “on-the-go” First Aid Kits that are easy packing. Plus they have such a variety of cute patterns and sizes.

Chapstick. I don’t use chap stick often, but I would hate to need it and pay double the price at the airport for chap stick that typically makes my lips feel worse a couple hours later. Earth’s Daughters chap stick is organic and has not had the effect for me. It’s made with organic beeswax and sunflower oil.
